June 8, 2010   in   Did you know...

With the Avenue application for Windows® Mobile and Blackberry™ devices, you have the ability and freedom to take the most important Boulevard information with you. Why not have your business information at your fingers tips whenever and wherever you need it, even when away from your computer?

Access profile information for Customers and Address list contacts along with the ability to view up to two years of their purchase history. Need to know the production or contact information for a consultant in your team or unit? With Avenue you’ve got that too.

Dial any phone number directly from Avenue using your device dialer. And if your device has email capability,  email directly from Avenue application. These convenient features make it easy to stay in touch with customers and stay on top of the details even when you’re busy.

The Trip Log is an excellent tool that allows you to record business mileage while you’re out and about without having to write anything down. We didn’t stop there. Would you like to have your inventory at your fingers tips? How about the ability to create an invoice for those spontaneous on-the-go sales we all love to get? With Main Street Software’s handheld application, that’s possible, too!

Once home, just synchronize your device and everything is updated between Avenue and the Boulevard software on your computer. No internet or browser connection is required to run or synchronize Avenue with your computer. Safe, secure, and convenient – Main Street Software makes business mobility easy!

Any chance you will work on an app for the iPhone anytime soon? I have a feeling iPhones are here to stay & fairly popular, and it would be WONDERFUL to have a Mobile version of Boulevard like my Blackberry friends do. ;o)

We are currently looking into developing for the iPhone. There is significant differences between the iPhone operating system and the platforms we currently support (Windows Mobile and BlackBerry). We will be sure to let you know if and when we plan to release a mobile version for the iPhone. Thank you for your comment!

How do I access this capability from my PALM Pixi Plus Black phone?

Hi, Diane,

The Palm Pixi uses an operating system known as Palm WebOS. It is a unique operating system used only for the Palm Pixi and Palm Pre Smartphone devices. At this time, compatible device operating systems for Boulevard and the Avenue software include Windows Mobile and BlackBerry. We are also in the beginning stages of developing for the iPhone.

Can you give me an example of what a Windows Mobile device is? Are you referring to a netbook?

Hi, Sharon,

Windows Mobile refers to the operating system your phone/PDA device uses, kind of like Windows versus Mac on a computer. Because the devices change so regularly, I do not have specific examples of Windows Mobile devices at this time. I would suggest talking with your cell phone carrier to find out what options they have available to you. When shopping for a new PDA device, one recommendation is to always make sure you can return/exchange it without penalty should it not work with the software you want to load. Please contact our office if you have additional questions.

How about the Android? Is Avenue compatible with the Droid? How great it would be to be able to work wherever I am!

Are you planning to come up with an app for the Android system? I love my Droid and would really like to connect my Mary Kay business to it “on the go”!

Until recently, I used my Palm Tungsten E2 for my offsite access. Unfortunately, it has died! I now have an IPOD Touch. Can I synch my BLVD to it?
